36 artists entered a contest for a commission along the east wall of The Cochran. Nick Goetling was selected by an Edgewater art committee consiting of Alderman Harry Osterman’s office staff, Jerry Goodman, and Katrina Balog (Director of the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce).

Goetling’s art will be attached to The Cochran (1127 Granville Ave) facade and face the CTA Red Line. The three 20′ x 20′ canvas squares will have a life term of 10 years or longer. It will greet train passengers arriving at or leaving the Granville station.

The art depicts Lake Michigan, the CTA train, and mixed real estate in Edgewater. Thom Green, the facade architect and design consultant from Greene & Proppe Design Inc., will assist Nick with installation.
